Audio Tracker Overview
Audio Tracker is a 3 channel Chip
Tracker for the Oric Atmos 48K Machine with or without Disc
Drive.
The Audio Tracker Manual uses
links in captured images from the editor to ease navigation of the
system.
Audio Tracker Music
Structure
A music is made from short
sequences of notes called patterns. Each pattern can be present once
or more in the song. The order in which patterns are played is
defined by the song list
A pattern is just a list of
notes, each defined by a reference to an instrument, pitch, duration, and
eventual effect applied to it.
Audio Tracker Music Editor
The Audio Tracker editor is split
into 4 regions. Mouse click over the region in the
screenshot below for more information on it.
Audio Tracker Compiler
The Audio Tracker Compiler will compile the
Music. Compiling involves optimisation of both Code and Data.
Unused Functionalities in the code are ommitted and Only data used
is compiled. The final generated code and data is usually a fraction
of the original music and code size and for a small piece of music
can be only a few kilobytes long.
The
Audio Tracker Compiler
has not yet been written. As with many projects it is neccesary
to realise the full format and workability of the existing system
before writing a compiler.
